Design History

Denise Urban is the principal and creative director of UrbanDigits. She received a BFA from Moore College of Art and Design and an MFA in Interactive CD-ROM Development and Telecommunications from The School of Visual Arts, in New York City.

While starting her own design firm Digital Design in 1986, she attended The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, subsequently winning a scholarship to the Art Student's League in NYC. In addition to completing her scholarship in N.Y.C, she held freelance and staff positions in art direction, production, market research and copywriting for numerous Madison and Park Avenue design agencies such as Marke Communications, Hershey Communications and Allied Graphic Arts, in New York City. She has held freelance art direction positions at Neimen Marcus in Dallas, Texas and Strawbridge's in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania design firms.

Denise is currently a lifetime member of the Art Student's League in NYC. Her graphic designs and illustrations have appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines throughout the country, the New York Times, New York Newsday, New York Daily News, Dallas Morning News, Miami Herald, Seattle Times, Chicago Tribune, and the San Francisco Chronicle.

Denise Urban has taught traditional fine art, computer aided design, and digital design production courses at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Mercer County Community College, West Windsor, N.J.
